The Rail Park is Open

I, along with many others, snuck into the Reading viaduct for some urban exploring. Technically trespassing, but that was part of the fun of this overgrown, graffiti filled bit of Philly history.

Now, the first quarter mile has opened to the public. Cleaned up and safe, it’s a pleasant spot for a walk, but, aside from a great piece of art showcasing Philly’s urban manufacturing history, divorced from any sense of its original use.

Worth a visit, but not repeat visits, unless you live close by. Hopefully future phases will keep a bit more of the rough edges.

Rail Park

Not a bad spot for a selfie, though.
