I was taking a walk along Passyunk Ave. and stumbled on Philly Typewriter at the corner of Dickinson and Passyunk, essentially a typewriter museum where the items are for sale.
If you own a typewriter, they can repair it.
This is a hands on shop where trying the typewriters is encouraged. I had forgotten what it felt like to use a real machine. The thunk of the keys, the swoosh of the carriage, and the permanence of the words on paper.
They are starting a public typewriter program, which I think is a great idea. In the meantime, if you want to get your hands on some vintage machines, this is the place to go.
