Philly’s Little Streets (and a movie location): St. Alban’s Place

If you’ve seen The Sixth Sense, you’ve seen this street. The boy who saw dead people lived here. This block has been occupied since the 1870s, so there would be a lot of them to see. Built as working class housing, this was part of a tough Irish neighborhood called Devil’s Pocket. Zillow shows a house on this block sold for $725k two years ago, so the devil would need deep pockets now.

This pedestrian only block is located off 23rd St. south of Fitzwater. The literal centerpiece is a block long gated garden maintained by the residents.
