Years ago I used to like wandering around a giant antique emporium off South Street. That’s long gone, but in December Raxx Vintage opened at 534 South Street. It’s not nearly as big or varied as the old place, but at 5000 square feet there’s still a lot to see.
Most of the merchandise is clothing.
There is some jewelry and other accessories.
What makes this a fun stop for me is the Hoof & Antler corner. They used to have a shop in Old City and I’ve seen them at various flea markets. They always have a unique collection of antique books and oddities.
I stumbled on this little book and knew it was meant for my collection of Philly ephemera.
It’s very comprehensive, so I hope it was useful to the patrolman who carried it.
